Bullying Prevention and Awareness Week at OLMC School

Our Lady of Mount Carmel School has many activities, presentations and initiatives for this year's Bullying Prevention and Awareness Week  (November 19-25).  These initiatives are being undertaken to bring attention to this important and relevant matter in the lives of our students.
These are a few of the activities we have planned at OLMC School to promote Bullying Awareness:
-Kick-Off Assembly on Monday, November 20th at 1:00 PM in school gymnasium featuring a Bullying Video, Skits,           and a Reflection Dance.
-"Positive Message Challenge" where all students and staff of OLMC take the challenge and pledge to write or say                something positive to someone, everyday of the week, to bring a smile to their face.
-Staff and students to wear Pink all week to show a united front against Bullying.
-Poster Contest where students are asked to create a poster that delivers a Bullying Awareness message.
-Morning Announcements and Prayers during the week which have a bullying awareness message.
-Every class to create a piece of work that depicts the dangers of bullying and the need to care and respect our                classmates and colleagues.  All creations will be displayed in the school entry showcase.
-Large Bulletin Board in the school's front hallway with the message, "#WECDSB STAND UP!".  Every student and           staff member will sign the bulletin board to show their support and unity against bullying.
-All classroom teachers will address the dangers and proper use of social media with their students.

All these events and activities are done in an effort to heighten awareness of the dangers of bullying and its negative impact on the school community.  The ultimate goal is to eradicate bullying forever!!!
